Day Two

This was a rough one- 14 miles with little shade and some tough terrain. I met a fellow pilgrim from Connecticut and we walked together all day. I’m not sure we would have made it without each other.

Over the years, pilgrims have left crosses made of stone and sticks at the hardest points. We looked at them today and remembered that we are not alone. Others have gone before us and they are cheering us on. May our faith mingle with theirs to sustain the next pilgrims who are unsure if they can take another step.

When I looked up from watching my step, I was treated to beautiful views of the mountains today. My help doesn’t come from them though; it comes from the Maker of heaven and earth. He journeys with us.

Tomorrow may be the hardest part of the journey yet. I covet your prayers.
