Sarah Ago is a minister, writer and nonprofit leader. She was ordained in 2011 in the Evangelical Covenant Church and served three churches in a variety of roles over her seventeen-year ministry career. She has a B.S. degree in Biblical Studies from Moody Bible Institute and an M.A. degree in Family Life Education through Fuller Theological Seminary. Sarah currently ministers as the Minister to the Board of a nonprofit called SEARCH (SE Asia Rescue Coalition and Haven), which walks alongside and raises support for a safe house for survivors of exploitation and trafficking. This work has been a passion of her heart for almost two decades.
Sarah regularly communicates her reflections on faith and life in her blogs and through short video messages posted here and on Facebook. She is also currently working on a book manuscript. Her writing has appeared in Children's Ministry Magazine, Mutuality magazine, the Africanus Journal, the Mutuality/CBE International blog and the blog Jesus Creed.
Sarah serves on the board of Del Camino Connection and Pilgrims of Ibillin.
Sarah's greatest joy is being mother to two young sons. She currently resides on an island near Charleston, SC and lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for 18 years. Born in New York, Sarah grew up in Oklahoma, where she learned the value of a culture of friendliness and the joy of a line dance! Her loves include, but are not limited to: Burma, books, ballet, baking and butterflies. And of course, chai and pumpkin spice! Sarah considers the young women of the Southeast Asian safe house to be her daughters.
Sarah's life's aim is summed up in a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson:
“To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.”
Her sincere hope is that you breathe a bit easier as a result of your time engaging with her life and words through this site.
