Day Ten
Yesterday was a solo day with brief chats with fellow pilgrims along the way. It was a nice surprise to see two German women at my hotel after seeing them often on the trail. Lodging was delightful with a kind and well-spoken inn keeper. I could have stayed longer!
I walked in silence much of the day, listening to the sounds of nature and taking in its beautiful song. I had been reading Hinds Feet on High Places the day before. In a delightful chapter, it described the song that the birds and flowers sing. The song of colors is one we have to be particularly tuned in to, to hear.
The picture above was an unexpected site as I rounded a bend into a forest. I listened to the song of these beautiful flowers.
